Having the time of our lives in Kirchberg, Austria

{ Blissfully happy in a beautiful town having the time of our lives }

Sometimes, pictures speak a thousand times louder than words and I believe that sums up how I can describe one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited...Kirchberg in Austria. So grab a coffee, google map this gorgeous little Austrian town - fyi it's right near Salzburg which is almost on the border of Austria & Germany - & settle in for our love story with our hosts of where we stayed - Alpenrider, the people in the town, the experiences .. & the town itself... Kirchberg.

Once upon a time, only days ago, a guy & a girl with their best friends in tow (ehem, that's Morgsy & I) arrived in Salzburg to be picked up by one of the coolest guys we've ever met - Shevvy. He turned out to be the host of all hosts over the next 5 nights...and here is where the story begins.

He drove us to his beautiful hostel with views like this along the way ...

& this ...

After some hilariously fun drinking times that night in the bar, day 1 saw us adventure on what was the most breathtaking guided bike ride we've ever done (all included in the hostel stay)

With the friendliest guide who happily obliged to continually let us get off our bikes & take photos of awe struck Morgs & I

We passed stunning views...like this stream (that you could drink out of) ...

& this view of sweeping valleys & snow tipped mountains - it didn't even feel real it was that beautiful...

We rode past a locals farm high up in the mountains with some gorgeous goats ...

We stopped off at the lake for some delicious lunch with some spectacular views ...

& I managed to steel a cheeky fairy tale kiss...

The next day we were up early to head in to 2 days of Oktoberfest with our best friends. Memories were forged that will last a life time...

The day after, Morgs & I awoke & went out for our morning awe inspiring view of the mountains on our private balcony...but got a big surprise...there were hot air balloons in the sky...

So we chucked on some clothes, & wondered in to the quaint little town to get an even closer look at this magical balloons...

We stopped off for some coffee & a sweet treat as we watched the balloons gently float high above us...

After thinking nothing could ever out do our spur of the moment balloon moments from the day before, we woke the next day with an appetite for adventure. Luckily we were in the perfect town for it, so we caught the chair lift up the huge mountain for some lunch with a view...

& managed to find some incredibly beautiful scenery on our walk to the chair lifts...& even managed to be inspired by some old love by the lake (look closely at the couple in the picture to see what I mean)

Day 6 arrived & we very very sadly said goodbye to our surrogate 'family' for the week - especially Shevy & Bianca (the hostel owners)... goodbye Kirchberg, we'll miss you!

& the adventure continues as we head to Vienna...Austria - we LOVE you

Love & Light xx

  3. What a beautiful little place! I'll definitely take note to check out that hostel. It's so good you're taking note of everywhere you stayed, that's what I wish I had done, plus written down all the amazing cafes and restaurants I visited!

  5. I literally gasped in wonder just seeing these stunning photos. Where's this hostel in Kirchberg? I've always found that no matter how cheap or expensive the place is, it's the service that counts. Anyway, don't forget to let me know the name of the hostel. I'd love to head over to this place come next year. I've been promising a friend of mine that I'll visit him and his family in Austria. *hang head in shame* It's been 16 years and I kept saying next year...and next year....
